Why should I work with a digital marketing agency?

This question could be answered with a complex solution, but we will offer this simple analogy instead: Would you prefer to buy a bunch of guides and try to fix the plumbing yourself, or pay a premium to hire an expert plumber to get the job done right?

The work we do is not mysterious and anyone with a dedication to marketing can learn it. We have spent countless hours, days, years learning the ins and outs of our craft, so that we can call ourselves experts. We work with many other companies like yours so we have benchmarks, have tried other things before, and know what works (and what doesn’t). We believe, that like plumbing, with our expertise in place we will save you money in the long run. Let us be your experts in the field.

How does payment work?

Our clients are billed month to month with a 30 day opt out. We prefer clients sign at least a 6-month contract as it takes time to get onboarded, setup, see and react to results. If you decide to move in another direction – that’s ok! Don’t worry about paying months of fees for a service you no longer want. For paid ads, we can put our card file and invoice you, or utilize your card. Whichever is easier.

How long do clients typically stay on?

We have found that large agencies have an attrition rate around 30%, with an average client length of 6-8 months. Our average clients stay on for more than 12 months – most have not left at all. When clients do decide to leave it’s often because their sales funnel gets too full, they get enough in order to move on without an outside source, or they simply decide to move their business in a new direction. We pride ourselves on our retention rate and would be happy to refer you to some of our current clients to ask questions or you can read our reviews here.

What does a monthly report entail?

We are always transparent about the work we do. Digital marketing shouldn’t be confusing – and this monthly report is a way to clear up just what you’re paying us for. Our monthly report showcases everything that we worked on that month and what we plan to work on the following month (with your input, of course!). It’s also a clear way to pull all of our digital marketing efforts into one place rather than having to view disparate platforms. Depending on the services you’ve paid for, the reports dive into the knitty gritty of what’s working and what’s not in your current digital marketing strategy. Expect updates on conversions, impressions, user engagement, site traffic, site speed, ads, keyword ranking, backlink data, and more.

Will I know what you're working on each month?

Yes! Each month we will meet via phone, email, or in person to discuss your report. This will give you an opportunity to see what we’ve worked on so far and what we plan to work on going forward. These meetings are the perfect time for us to learn about what’s changed with your business and if there’s anything new to promote e.g. new blogs, promotions, specials, services, etc. We truly believe transparency is key in fostering good relationships.

Can we meet in person?

Of course! If you’re in the area, feel free to stop by our Bellingham office. We can also meet for coffee, for happy hour, or in the park for a walk. We are open to whatever allows your creative juices to flow.

Who will I work with at the agency? Everyone or just one point of contact?

Every client has an Account Manager who will be your point of contact. This person works with every professional at the agency who touches your work to make sure things are done on time and as requested. If you have specific questions or need more information, we occasionally have our SEO experts, PPC experts or Developers join in on calls or meetings.

How often can you answer questions about my account?

We will always answer emails or return calls within 24 hours, often much sooner. We’re here for you.

How much does it cost to do SEO?

Each client has a custom proposal built out based on needs. (No two businesses are alike!) We find that a $500/mo minimum is enough to start seeing results in 3-6 months. We also have consulting per hour to suit your needs.

Do you have case studies or example work?

See various case studies and results here. Feel free to reach out if you’re looking for a specific example.

Do people really click those Google Ads?

Did you know Google sold 32 billion in Ad sales in 2018? You may not click them, but many people do! Google Ads also result in free impressions and good branding. We constantly test ad language to formulate the copy that resonates the best with your audience. (This makes great fodder for other uses!) Remember the age old saying: a prospective client needs to see or hear your marketing message at least seven times before they take action, buy, or convert.

Who owns the the work you do when our contract ends?

We keep it simple: you do!

Can you be more specific?

What's the difference between SEO and "Local SEO"

This question deserves a long winded response, but we will keep it short and sweet:

Local SEO really has to do with a consistent NAP (name, address, phone number) across different websites. Local SEO is tied to your Google My Business Page. This does not track within Google Analytics like your website does. Many actions never resolve on the website (think directions to your shop or a phone number to reach you). But local SEO can also relate to backlinks from local companies and databases.

SEO has to do with increasing your search engine results (SERPs) listings. SEO is your normal search engine results page. You can learn all about it here and here.

Why am I not showing up in Google?

Are you not showing up in keyword searches or is your site not coming up at all? Either way, we can help. There can be a lot of reasons why you’re not showing up: you don’t have a website, your website isn’t set to be crawled by Search Engines, your website has been blocked, your website doesn’t have any keyword targeting, you don’t have any backlinks, and so much more.

My friend said SEO is dead. Is that true?

The old version of SEO strategy based on spammy and abusive actions is dead. Lucky for you (and us!) there are thousands of different SEO strategies and we use ones that work. As long as there are search engines (whether that be Google, Amazon, Facebook, or something completely new) there will be criteria for what will show up first in them. Our job is to stay up-to-date on any changes in how to best optimize so that we can continue to rank. SEO ain’t going nowhere!
