FAQs

We could give a complex answer to this simple question, but we will offer this analogy instead: Would you prefer to purchase a how-to manual and tools to try and plumb a toilet yourself, or would you rather hire an expert plumber to get the job done right?

Our team has proven expertise in a wide variety of industries, thousands of hours of training and education and years of troubleshooting experience. Our clients run the gamut when it comes to industries, from mission-based nonprofits to internationally renowned ad agencies. We have relevant benchmarks, have tried it all and know what works (and what doesn’t). We believe, as with plumbing, that our expertise will save you money in the long run.

The work we do is not mysterious, but it can be time-consuming and require a specialized set of tools and expertise. We have spent countless hours, days and years learning the ins and outs of our craft. Let us be your experts in the field.

Digital marketing is a series of tools and strategies that, when combined, amplify your digital presence. When paired with an overarching marketing strategy, digital marketing can ensure that your audience sees and hears a consistent message across all platforms—whether you’re advertising on the side of a bus or on LinkedIn.

Search engine optimization (SEO), search engine ads and social media ads are three strategies that we weave together to guarantee your content will appear in front of the right people. SEO makes sure your website and content strategy are aligned, making it easy for the right customers to find you online. Search engine advertising is the process of creating and maintaining paid ad campaigns, also known as Search Engine Marketing (SEM) and pay per click (PPC) ads, in Google AdWords, Google Shopping, Bing Ads and Amazon. Social media advertising is the process of creating and maintaining paid ad campaigns to help you reach new customers on social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest and Twitter.

Like any specialized field, digital marketing speaks its own language of terms and abbreviations—keyword rankings, SEM, SEO, PPC, to name a few. It can be difficult to keep them all straight. We’ve written a glossary to help break it all down.

Did you know that Google generated $146.92 billion in ad sales in 2020? You may not click Google Ads, but many people do! Google Ads also result in free impressions and and are part of good branding. We constantly test ad language to formulate the copy that resonates with your audience, copy that can then be used throughout your marketing materials. A maxim of marketing and advertising says that a prospective client needs to see or hear your marketing message at least seven times before they take action, buy, or convert.

Digital marketing is an ongoing process that needs to be tailored to your content and desired audience. We work closely with you to get to know your services, your goals and your audience. From there we develop a strategy to help you maximize your budget and best accomplish your goals. Timelines vary across industries, but we generally say you should begin to see results in a few months. Be wary of digital marketing companies that promise immediate results—in our experience that means time and money is being used to reach people, but not the right people for you and your business.

The tools we use vary based on the individual needs of each client, but we use some staples across nearly all of our digital marketing clients:

  • Google Analytics for reporting on website traffic trends
  • Google Search Console for keyword traffic reviews and general site health diagnostics
  • SEMrush for reviewing organic keyword rankings and competitors ad spends
  • Majestic to track detailed backlink information
  • Screaming Frog SEO Spider to audit existing website SEO
  • Google Ads Keyword Planner for keyword research

These are the basics. Many accounts have requirements specific to their industries and verticals and adapt tools and strategies to meet those specific needs.

We are always transparent about the work we do. Digital marketing shouldn’t be confusing—and monthly reports are how we demonstrate just what you’re paying us for. Our monthly report showcases everything we worked on that month and what we plan to work on the following month (with your input, of course). The report is also a clear way to pull all of our digital marketing efforts into one place rather than having to view disparate platforms. Depending on the services you’ve paid for, our reporting dives into the nitty gritty of what’s working and what’s not in your current digital marketing strategy. Expect updates on conversions, impressions, user engagement, site traffic, site speed, ads, keyword ranking, backlink data and more. And our monthly reporting meetings are not a one-way flow of information. They also serve as a check-in and a means by which you can update us about what’s going on with your business, including areas of focus, promotions, products, awards and accolades—anything that can help us more precisely target potential customers and get your message out effectively.

Every client has an Account Manager who will be your point of contact. This person collaborates with every professional at our agency who touches your work to make sure things are done on time and as requested. If you have specific questions or need more information, your account manager will invite our SEO specialists, PPC experts and Developers join calls and meetings. We pride ourselves on being available, accessible and always ready to help our clients achieve their digital marketing goals.

Some examples of how we can be the right fit for a reselling relationship:

  • Sales assists and research to identify prospects with reselling partners’ sales teams
  • Branded proposals and audits
  • Providing reporting and communications that are branded for our reselling partners
  • Carrying out calls and communications as direct representatives of our clients

We are flexible in how we manage billing for advertisements. Clients can request quotes for management fees based on a flat monthly rate, or we can operate on a percentage-of-spend management fee. We can direct Google to bill ad spend directly to our clients, or we can manage spends on our company credit card and invoice management fees and ad spend on a monthly basis. As with everything we do, we can tailor billing to ensure it’s a fit that works for you.

Yes. We have thousands of hours of experience working with a diverse array of Google Ad Grant recipients. In fact, Google Ad Grant administration and account management projects are some of our favorite work. The marketing force multiplier of up to $10,000 a month on free spend can dramatically impact a nonprofit’s operational budget. We ask our clients to verify eligibility and set up their basic accounts, then our Google Ads team takes over for the build-out of the Google Ad campaign, including creation of keyword strategy and ongoing management.
